As you have probably heard by now, The CW officially cancelled our beloved Everwood. A special thanks to all of you who helped with this campaign by sending letters and letting Dawn Ostroff know how much this show means to you. Everwood will be sorely missed. It's a shame that another quality show has, in fact, gone down the drain. Executive Producer Rina Mimoun had this to say to TVGuide.com's Mike Ausiello about all of the show's wonderful fans:
Thank you to all our fans for all their hard work and effort. I'd love to give a giant cyberhug to everyone who has been so amazing to us.
3/27/06 UPDATE!
Zap2it has an excellent article on this show with quotes from the cast. Star Tom Amandes tells the site that he's "concerned" because the show has not been picked up yet. He says:
"There's been talk of filming things a couple of different ways, because our final episode of the season won't air until after [the fall schedule is decided]. That's really sobering. It'll be an emotional parting, but hopefully it will be just as emotional a reunion when we come back for season five."If you would like to read the entire article from Zap2it, click HERE.
4/18/06 UPDATE!
The Chicago Tribune has an excellent article with creator Greg Berlanti. In the interview, Berlanti says:
“I don’t think, to be honest, I don’t know that I would blame anyone at the CW network [for not getting picked up for another season]. I think they’re trying to do their best. I would blame a lot of people at the WB who haven’t, I think, gotten behind the show when they needed to. With the exception of our first year when we got terrific promotion and a terrific launch, it’s never gotten the kind of push [that it should have]. And this year they moved us twice. You can read the full article HERE. A special thanks to The TV Addict for finding the article!
“It’s overstated to say that it’s been traumatic for the fans, but considering what they’ve been through… they’ve kind of gotten the short shrift. It’s my hope that we get a new chance on a new network to do what we do best, with the kind of momentum the new network will have behind it."
